Dan Rivers claims Bronze in the Men’s Air Rifle at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.Fighting off stiff Competition from the likes of Indian Olympian Abhinav Bindra, Dan held his nerve through two shoot-offs. The first saw him square off with Ravi Kumar of India to settle 4th place. Rivers edged Kumar out to put himself into the final three. Two shots later however and he had tied with Abdullah Baki (Bangladesh) and only managed a 9.4 against Baki’s 9.8 in the shoot-off, leaving Rivers in Bronze medal position. Baki went on to take Silver and Bindra Gold.

River’s England teammate Ken Parr was also in the final, eliminated in 5th place, whilst Mike Bamsey of Wales was eliminated in 7th. They will also be competing in the 50M Rifle Prone and Three-Position events, alongside Scotsmen Neil Stirton and Jon Hammond who both medalled at the Delhi Commonwealth games in 2010.

Mike Bamsye (WAL) eliminated from Men's Air Rifle Final

Mike Bamsey (WAL) is eliminated in 7th. He will have another chance on Monday in the Men’s Prone event.
