Cruises home to convincing win at Bisley
Dan Rivers asserted his 3P prowess at the BFRC 3P Match on Sunday leading the Men’s Qualification and taking the Mixed Final by a considerable margin.
The BFRC saw a Men’s 3×40 and Women’s 3×20 fired, with the first 20 shots of each position in the 3×40 carried into a concurrent Mixed 3×20. Only one – mixed – final was held, rather than two separate finals.
Rivers led the men on 1139, followed by Richard Chasemore on 1114 and Simon Henry on 1111. They were the only 3 to crack 1100 in the tricky conditions, though Jacob Hill came frustratingly close in 4th with 1099.
Jo Pullen led the Women’s 3×20 on 563, with Zoe Bruce and Gemma kermode following on 559 and 551 respectively.
All 6 qualified for the mixed final, with Rachel Glover and Kevin Sinclair making it eight.
The medals were decided by the end of the Kneeling stage, with Dan River leading Jo Pullen by a point, with Rachel Glover in third. That lead was extended to 3.7points after the Kneeling phase, before Dan opened the taps Standing. A 95.0 in his first two standing strings left Jo’s 87.8 behind as Dan extended his lead to a clear 10.9 points. Five shots later and the final tally stood 440.1 to 421.9. Rachel held her Bronze medal position with 407.8 to Simon Henry’s 399.4.
